Recreation Area

Funding: Almaty City Administration, Soros Foundation Kazakhstan

Implementation period: 2017-2020

Results: 1.1 ha (2.7 acres) of abandoned and polluted wetland areas were regenerated and converted into a recreation area with walking alleys, cultural and sports spaces, and playgrounds. The project involved active collaboration with local communities in the design and construction stages.
